A native to metro Detroit, I grew up in the area and completed my undergrad at Kalamazoo College before coming back to Detroit for grad school.
I’ve always been fascinated with the ‘how’ underlying life, which led me to chemistry as an undergrad, and now biochemistry and molecular biology. I’ve always been a visual learner and the ability to use pictures (i.e. molecular structures) to help explain how life processes occur has always made the most sense to me. I hope my research will ultimately lead to a better understanding of biological pathways and therefore better treatment for human illnesses.
Joined the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in 2004/2005.
